About this event
Spend your Saturdays learning and practicing the art of photography at a variety of different locations in the greater Ann Arbor area! This class is for beginners looking to improve their photography skills or those looking for a refresher on techniques and practices. The basics of composition, depth, and the use of wide angle lenses (the primary lens of smartphone cameras) will be explored through discussions and photography exercises. Students will explore their own eye for framing and content, while working with natural lighting, as well as some basic artificial lighting setups. On the first day of class, students will meet at the Art Center and your instructor will discuss meeting locations for future class sessions. Future meeting locations may include downtown Ann Arbor, the Ann Arbor Arboretum, Depot Town, Meadowcroft Farm, Delhi Metropark, and more! *On days with inclement weather, your instructor will designate an indoor meeting location. Students will need to provide their own digital camera. This can be a smartphone camera, any DSLR or Mirrorless Digital camera from 2010 to the present. DSLR and Mirrorless Digital camera manufacturers can be Sony, Panasonic, Pentax, Canon, or Nikon. *There will be no class on May 25th. Please note: the A2AC does not make exceptions to the age minimum for any reason.
