ACORN

Alma College • 614 W. Superior Street AlmaMI  48801 Organized by Alma College

About this event

Do you ever wish you were the forensic scientist on the crime scene? Do you like solving puzzles? Do you enjoy hands-on learning and want to engage in real research? If so, the Alma College Research Network (ACORN) program is for you. First-year students have the extraordinary opportunity to engage in research before they even step foot on campus! Prior to their freshman year, selected students are invited to begin their academic journey through the ACORN summer research opportunity alongside Alma faculty and other students. Once you’re here as a student, the opportunities only get better; Science-focused four-week Spring Term courses provide opportunities for students to study in the lab or out in the field, working side-by-side with a faculty member. Students can apply for a summer research opportunity at Alma under the exclusive direction of a faculty member. Students attending ACORN should register for Friday, July 12th of Becoming a Scot Day. The link to register is here: https://www.alma.edu/admissions/connect-and-visit/becoming-a-scot-day
