--Instructor: Christion Ty Edwards--This workshop will explore the fundamentals of unarmed stage combat. Topics will include the art of staged/simulated violence for stage and screen, the story of the fight, safety, vocally scoring the fight, falling safely, various strikes (punches, slaps, kicks, etc.), defending blocks, footwork, knaps, partnering, and foundational movement for continued stage combat work. *NOTE: By enrolling in this workshop, you acknowledge that there will be forms of tactile work between you and other students and/or the instructor. With this in mind, the instructor will lead the group in proper protocols for acknowledging the start and end of the work when it comes to touch and will guide the group through statements on boundaries. Safety and autonomy will be priority number one in this workshop.
