About this event
Lucia Schaefer received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Masters in Music Education from Christopher Newport University and is currently in their fourth year as the Middle School Music Director at Browne Academy and 11th year teaching music overall. She is certified in the Kodály Method, Orff Process, and Arts integration and specializes in student voice and choice. They believe that every child is a musician with the capacity for musical engagement and that arts education is a human right. In addition to teaching at Browne Academy, Lucia is the Alto Soloist at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in downtown DC and the K-12 Ear Training and Musicianship teacher for the DC chapter of the National Children's Chorus. Lucia enjoys working in her vegetable garden, napping with her old dog Sadie, and trying new restaurants with her husband Thad. Instruments offered: Guitar, Ukulele Grades: Kindergarten-8th Grade
