Statistics range from a 50% to 80% new business failure rate within five years. The main reason – no business plan. So business plans are very important and need to be completed before starting a business. This course will cover the importance and benefits of generating a business plan as well as going over the content and structure of an effective plan. In addition, the course will help with how to get the information needed for a plan and give the participants a head start with the process through workshops whereby they will, at a minimum, construct an outline for their plan for their businesses. And while working on their business plans they will get guidance from the instructor, who was a business consultant who researched and wrote business plans. The first two weeks are lecture only, the last four weeks are lecture and workshop.
Below is my tentative course outline. This is not to be included in the write-up, but I am providing it to you in case people have some basic questions on the course. Of course (pun intended) you can put the questions through to me as well.
