. eSports is an exciting emerging competitive sport with over 130 colleges now offering Collegiate eSports programs and scholarship and College recruitment opportunities available for top eSports athletes. Playing eSports competitively is a great way to use an activity your son already enjoys to encourage teamwork, time management skills, and to develop practical technology skills. Your son will participate in a national competition run by the High School eSports League (or Middle School eSports League) throughout the fall with invitational playoff games for the top national eSports teams. In the inaugural year we had two team members participate in the National Championships! This program will also include an after-school classroom component where your Cadet will put together their own personal eAthlete Log Book, learn about technology and careers in technology, and participate in practice games with their teammates. All eSports equipment needed to participate will be provided, and students need only bring their own copy of the league-supported game they wish to compete in. This program is currently capped at 18 participants and will have tryouts to select those 18 seats. *Please note, the dates above do NOT reflect the calendar dates.
