Learn to Stargaze

Shelter: Ripp Park South • 990 Ripp Park Road WaunakeeWI  53597 Organized by Village Center

About this event

Description

Do you know how to find the Big and Little Dipper in the night sky? How about Orion the hunter or the queen Cassiopeia? The Village Center is partnering with UW Space Place to bring you this FREE stargazing event at Ripp Park! The program will begin just after sunset with a 20-30 minute presentation and slide show about astronomy, followed by a chance for everyone to view and identify astronomical objects through the UW Space Place telescope (if the sky is clear). Some picnic tables are available, but feel free to bring your own chairs and blankets.

All ages welcome, but adult supervision is required for ages 12 and under. Even though this is a free event, please pre-register each family member so enough materials are available.
