Description
In this hands-on cooking class participants will first learn to prepare dashi (seaweed stock) for Miso Soup, and then learn sushi techniques and ingredients and get to enjoy their delicious handmade sushi! Participants will make the traditional Japanese shari rice used for rolling sushi, then use it to make traditional and not-so-traditional rolls. On the menu: Miso Soup; Shari Rice; Spicy Tuna Roll; California Roll; Wisconsin Roll with Bratwurst, Cheddar and Wasabi Mayonnaise; Gingered Noodle and Roasted Eggplant Roll; Roasted Pepper and Kewpie Mayonnaise Roll; and Inside-Out Roll; as well as the customary sushi accompaniments of pickled ginger (gari), wasabi, and soy sauce.
