About this event
Who: Social Club (Criteria: Social Club is for individuals 19-40 who are able to participate in simple conversations, follow multi-step directions, have a clear understanding of dangerous situations (crossing the street, etc.) and visit the restroom independently. Appropriate behavior is mandatory. Language or actions of violent or sexual nature, are strictly forbidden.) What: Harlem Globetrotters Basketball Game @ Chartway Arena (ODU) Where: Drop off and Pick up: FACT Autism Resource Center 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd Virginia Beach, VA 23452 When: Saturday March 30, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 4:15 PM Why: To provide social interaction and community engagement opportunities to teens and young adults with autism. How: Adult staff and peer volunteer chaperones will provide 1:6 supervision. Peer volunteers will also participate, but their primary purpose is to provide social interaction, not supervision. Description: See the Globetrotter stars LIVE as they DRIBBLE, SPIN, SLAM, and DUNK their way past their relentless rivals, the Washington Generals! You'll be amazed by new levels of mind-blowing trick shots, expert ball-handling skills, and BIG LAUGHS with unrivaled opportunities for pre-game, post-game and in-game fan engagement! Please note: price includes staff, admission, and transportation. Concessions are not included. If you would like, please provide your child monies to purchase concessions. THE ARENA HAS GONE CASHLESS. If you plan on purchasing anything, please bring a card or cashless payment. Registration: RSVP online a minimum of 48 hours prior to Social Club (please note that space is frequently limited and may be sold out prior to the 48-hour deadline.)
