About this event
This program allows for any/all individuals with ASD to learn the basics of what it takes to camp and be successful while camping. We will spend 8 weeks in the classroom learning basic camping skills and practicing skills: pitching a tent, building a camp fire, basics of being in nature, and other camping necessities. At the conclusion of the camping class, families will be invited to join us on a one-night camping excursion. The excursion IS NOT included in the class and is optional. FACT will not pay for or supply materials for the camping excursion- families will be required to pay for the camp site and bring any materials needed to camp. ***if interested in volunteering, please call the office 757-422-2040 ext. 103*** Who: Individuals who have autism and are 8 and older Where: FACT's Autism Resource Center 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd Virginia Beach, VA 23452 When: Every Wednesday from March 6-May 1 (no camping on April 3) from 6-7:30pm **** If the program reaches capacity, please still register so FACT can contact you as participants cancel and/or more spots open up! **********
