Description
This program is a unique opportunity to participate in a mixed-voice chamber choral setting, increase singing skills, and learn about music in a concentrated and engaging manner. Led by instructor Brian Wismath and featuring Emily Carr String Quartet, singers will participate in daily rehearsals culminating in a final performance. Singers will explore a wide range of choral works from the baroque era to recent compositions. While the course is open to all skill levels, it is strongly recommended that participants have previous experience singing with sheet music.
Repertoire will feature works by J.S. Bach, Gabriel Fauré, Ola Gjeilo, James Mulholland, and Katerina Gimon.
All rehearsals and performance will take place onsite at the Alix Goolden Performance Hall - VCM (900 Johnson Street)

Monday, August 12 – Thursday, August 15
11:30am-2:45pm (break from 12:30pm-1:15pm)
Friday, August 16
6:00pm-8:00pm
Saturday, August 17
12:30pm-2:00pm – dress rehearsal
7:00pm – concert (6:30pm call time)
Refund Policy
Program viability is based upon minimum enrollment. As such, there are no refunds available after the registration deadline (in most cases, four weeks prior to the program start date), except in cases of injury or illness (for which a doctor’s note is required), or other exceptional circumstance, such as family re-location.
Prior to the registration deadline, tuition may be refunded, pending the approval of the Artistic Director. Application and transaction fees are non-refundable. Withdrawal requests must be made in writing to the Victoria Conservatory of Music’s Registrar’s Office. Requests made after the completion of a given program will not be considered.
