About this event
Learn how to paddle in a surfski. This program will introduce paddlers to surfski fundamentals and paddling, including equipment care and boat recovery. The five sessions will cover: - Removing the boats from East Shed and returning boats with COVID Club Protocol - How to care for club equipment - How to enter and exit from dock - How to recover from capsize - How to choose a wing blade paddle, proper grip - Basic paddling strokes, navigational - Paddlers are to provide their own PFD, paddles will be provided by FCRCC Prerequisites: - Must be a member of the FCRCC club. - Previous paddling experience is not needed, but recommended - A paddler must at comfortable being in the water Equipment: - Paddlers are advised to provide their own PFD to avoid sharing PFDs due to COVID. If you don't have one for the first couple sessions, you may borrow one from the club and sanitize afterwards. - Club boats will be available for participants to use.
