Introduction to Clay (Ages 18 & Up)
Pre-Requisite: None
Instructor: Rebecca Pincus
This is a fun beginning level class which will allow you to experience both hand building and throwing on the wheel. The first three weeks will be spent learning the basics of hand building. You will make trays, cups and small sculptures. You will the ins and outs of various equipment in the studio, and how to use our large collection of texture tools. The second three weeks you will be working on the wheel, learning how to make bowls, small vases and cups. The last week of class you will glaze your work and it will be available for pick up the beginning of the next session. This class provides detailed, hands-on instruction so you can gain confidence and go on to create whatever you like. Additional costs on the first day of class, payable to the instructor: Clay-$25, Materials fee-$10. Student supplies own tools.
