Mineral Springs Walking Tour

Steamboat Creates Art Depot • 1001 13th St. Steamboat SpringsCO  80487 Organized by Yampatika

About this event

RSVP Encouraged! All are welcome, tour is tailored towards adult/young adults. Don’t miss out on this easy-to-access walking tour. Steps away from the restaurants and shops of downtown is a diversity of natural Mineral Springs each with its own history, medicinal uses, and geologic pasts starting over 40 million years ago. This program is offered in partnership with Tread of Pioneers Museum. All participants will receive a half-off coupon admission coupon to the Tread of Pioneers Museum for attendance. What to expect: This walk is ~1 mile long and is mostly flat along city sidewalks. The optional trek to Lithia Springs does have some elevation gain through residential streets. What to wear: This is a casual walk. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for an hour outside; be ready for what the weather brings for the day. Sun protection such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen is recommended- UV rays are much more powerful at our elevation so even two hours is enough to cause sunburns and sight damage.  What to bring: Ensure you have a water bottle and any medications you may need, including epi-pens, with you. Where to meet: We will meet in the parking lot near the Art Depot. Your guide will be parked near the entrance to the parking lot. Anyone is welcome on this tour, however, it is taught at an adult/young adult level of comprehension- young children may find much of the content difficult to understand.
