About this event
Teacher: Ishan Sharma Description/Goal of club and teacher's bio Public Speaking a type of club that helps students feel more confident in public speaking by doing in-club practice and being taught the basics of what is contained in a speech and how to confront challenges that come during public speaking. At the start the students will deliver a speech on an assigned topic to get an idea of where the students are at and what they should improve on. The following classes will focus on the essential elements of a speech: for example, a hook, or a conclusion. In addition to this, students will also learn how to confront different issues and fears that come along with giving a public speech. The main goal of the club is that by the end of it, students will deliver a speech on a topic chosen by them to the class, with allowed bulleted note points, and by preventing errors and mistakes that people would generally make during public speaking. I am Ishan Sharma. I am a junior at the State College Area High School. I have participated in clubs such as congressional debate and classes that involve public speeches. I am hoping to study law in college.
