Description
As a Youth Soccer Coach at the YMCA, you have an opportunity to positively influence the development of youth and support your community. This program will offer a fun, recreational league and a quality soccer experience to non-travel players ages 3-11.The program is designed to increase participation and act as a catalyst to get children active. Teams' will practice once per week night and play games Saturday!
Tasks and Activities Include:-Completion of all required screening/training (see below)-Coaching organized soccer teams offered through the Downriver Y in partnership with the City of Southgate-Coaches will follow the YMCA curriculum and code of conduct for practices and games.-Communicating with parents of athletes as well as YMCA staff-Running 1 practice per week and attending 1 game per week.
Training:All youth sports coaches will be required to complete a national SSN background check, online child abuse prevention and athlete protection trianing, CPR, and a YMCA coach training prior to the start of the season. Approx. 5 hours of training total.

All volunteers will be monitored when interacting with program participants. We rake any inappropriate interactions between program participants and with volunteers very seriously and will fully cooperate with authorities in any case of abuse.
