This course will teach you exercises to complete the five Do More With Your Dog (DMWYD) fitness components: Flexibility, Balance, Stamina, Coordination and Strength to earn the DMWYD Canine Conditioning Fitness titles on your dog. This course will provide instruction on how to safely use canine conditioning equipment, maintain proper alignment and build a solid fitness foundation gradually by a certified Canine Conditioning Fitness Coach (CCFC) and AKC Fit Dog Instructor. There are four levels of fitness titles which can be accomplished. Some benefits of physically conditioned dogs include: better performance in sports and injury prevention; ability to maintain a healthy weight; maintain balance and coordination; provide an outlet for energy and reduce hyperactivity; strengthen the human-dog relationship and provide dogs with a sense of security; aide in behavioral problems relating to insufficient activity or boredom; and teach dogs to follow basic and advanced commands.
Testing will be on April 24th. Handlers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
