Description
Enjoy an evening at Hammel Woods exploring the habitat of our local bat species. Watch the bats emerge from their sleeping quarters to go out on their nightly hunt. Using echolocation technology, “listen” for bats as we stretch our legs on a short hike. Discover some fascinating facts about these flying mammals along the way as we end the evening around a campfire. Don’t forget a camp chair. You are welcome to bring a beer or wine to wind down the event.
Please meet at the stone pavilion. Enter Hammel Woods from the Route 59 access point. The program will include hiking less than 0.5 miles on paved and natural surface trails.
