Description
This swim team program, for ages 9 to 12 years, is for more advanced swimmers who need a more challenging practice environment. There is an increased emphasis on aerobic training, swimming intervals, and race strategy, while continuing to refine stroke technique.. Swimmers in this group are encouraged to attend meets regularly to use and continue to develop the skills and conditioning they obtain during practices. Swimmers in this group will periodically do test sets to determine their conditioning. This group practices five to six times per week for 1.5 hours. Requirements: Swimmers should be able to swim all four competitive strokes of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. They also need the ability to do pace and interval training using a pace clock and commit to a rigorous training program.
