This introductory course will introduce students to patient care pathways based on California CTE standards. Students will explore healthcare systems and the various career opportunities available within the healthcare industry. Students will learn about disease progression and prevention, medical terminology, medical law, health information systems, anatomy and physiology, and more. Additionally, students may also be able to earn professional certifications in AED, First Aid, and CPR. This course is required for students who are interested in joining the Healthcare Occupation Students of America (HOSA).
