Nadine Giroud, an experienced teacher and educator, is excited to bring a new language to our AES program. She will teach Mandarin for beginner.Group size: 4 to 10 kids max
Mandarin Chinese class for beginners at Ashbury campus @LFSF
Objective: This course is designed for K-5 students who are new to Mandarin Chinese and want to develop a solid foundation in the language. By the end of this course, students will be able to understand and use basic vocabulary, phrases and grammar to communicate in Mandarin Chinese. Curriculum: 1. Pronunciation and tones:Students will learn the basic sounds of Mandarin Chinese and how to use the correct tone(which is very important) for each word. 2. Vocabulary: Students will learn common vocabulary words related to greetings, family,food,numbers,colors and animals. 3.Grammar: Students will learn basic grammar structures and sentence patterns, including simple phrases and questions. 4.Conversation skills: Students will practice speaking and listening in Mandarin Chinese by participating in various games and role-plays. 5.Cultural insights: Students will learn about Chinese culture and customs,including traditional festivals and food.Student will have the chance to taste pineapple cakes , home-made(healthier version) boba or baozi(steamed buns) A little bit about me.My name is Nadine. Born and raised in Taiwan,I am a Mandarin native speaker with prior teaching experience. I hold two master's degrees from Universite Catholique de Louvain(Belgium). I moved to San Francisco in 2021 from Amsterdam(Netherlands).I enjoy learning languages, cooking and baking.
