A high-energy four-day residential workshop at Le Gamonet—headquarter of our hosting ensemble Les Brayauds—in France's northern Occitan region. Led by Brendan Taaffe, Eric Desgrugillers and other local musicians. The focus of this week will be on the song tradition of Occitan de Nord, where the songs are inextricably linked with the dance tradition. Many of the songs we learn are sung for dancers, and so we will also have dance lessons. Perfect for people who are interested in balfolk as well as traditional singing.
