This 5K run is celebrating its 37th anniversary and features a special course run through the historic oil-drilling town of Mentryville.
Enjoy the history lesson as you run by famous oil tycoon Charles Mentry's grand 13-room mansion and old one-room schoolhouse and barn from the late 19th century. The elevation climb is around 330 feet, making for a moderately difficult run.

This 13th annual race features a 5K, 10K and 1K kids run, making it a great option for the entire family.
Dogs and strollers are also welcome on the course, which runs through Atlantic Station, a popular destination for shopping and dining in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. T-shirts go to the first 2,400 registrants, and all runners receive free race day photos.

In this annual event that benefits the Zelienople Rotary Club, the Shamrock Shuffle is one of the toughest half marathons in the tri-state area and includes a big hill climb six miles into the race. But, don't worry. You'll have the opportunity to reward yourself at the summit with keg stands and jello shots before you get on your way once again. Plus, there's green beer fueling stations along the way.
And if 13.1 miles is too daunting for St. Patrick's Day, try out the 5K or 1-mile family race instead. All finishers will receive a loaf of cinnamon swirl bread and top finishers are awarded with beer glasses.

This 5K race has been a "Southie" tradition since 1940, and it takes place right before the St. Patrick's Day parade in South Boston.
