About this event

Description

Help take care of the rain garden at the Lost Valley Visitor Center alongside the District's Landscape Architect. Learn about native plants, landscape design, and practical gardening tips.

The garden is surrounded by an ADA-accessible path and facilities so people of all abilities can join.

All ages 6+ are welcome. Any volunteers ages 6-13 should come with a parent/guardian, and ages 14-17 may attend with a permission slip if their parent/guardian is not attending.

Students fulfilling requirements and groups of five or more must register at least 1 week in advance. For corporate or business groups, please contact Shawna Flavell at 815-678-4532 ext. 8204.

Dress for the weather and outdoor activities. Bring a water bottle, gardening gloves (if you own them), and sunscreen/insect repellent when needed.

Please contact Landscape Architect Jen Oliver at joliver@mccdistrict.org if you have any questions on parking or cancellations due to weather.
