Enjoy swimming with your class at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre! Help students build confidence by developing or strengthening swimming skills by booking one or more sessions.
Be active, enjoy the leisure pool and all it has to offer in this family friendly environment.
School Swims:
- One hour forty-five minute program fee includes use of lifejackets, cost of staff, pool space.
- Up to 90 swimmers (inclusive of students, teachers, parents, support staff).
- Please note program will be during public swim time, space will not be designated for school only.
Booking information:
- Accounts required to book school swim programs and are created at portcoquitlam.ca/register.
- Bookings accepted a minimum of one week in advance.
- Payment by credit required to book.
- Cancellations can be made online (min 48 hours' notice required), by phone at 604.927.PLAY (7529) or email recreation@portcoquitlam.ca.
Arrival Information:
- Enter Lobby from front of Hyde Creek Recreation Centre
- Teachers report to Front desk to check in.
- Students and teachers may utilize any of the changerooms to get changed and ready to swim.
- Wait on wooden wharf area on pool deck for a lifeguard to give a safety talk prior to entering the pool.
Safety Information:
- Any swimmer under 7 years of age must be within arms reach of an adult 16+ (1 Adult : 3 Children)
- Students not permitted to use hot area (hot tub, sauna, steam room)
- Weaker swimmers recommended to wear lifejackets
- Clean bathing attire required for all individuals entering the pool
- Abide by all facility rules, outlined on signs and by lifeguards
- Be respectful to others, mindful of surroundings.
Check-in process:
- Proceed directly to Front Lobby.
- Check in with Front Desk staff.
- Proceed to changerooms to get changed into clean bathing attire.
- Lifeguard greets students on wharf area of pool deck and advises students on facility safety process.
