Event details and schedule

11th Annual VBC / Cycle & Sip Century Ride Weekend

DATE:  July 13th & 14th, 2024

TIME: 08:00am start

The 11th Annual VBC / Cycle & Sip Century Ride weekend is northern New Yorks premiere century ride.  The ride will take you to the northern edge of the Adirondack Park (we didn't want to kill you with too much climbing), and along the scenic shores of Historic Lake Champlain.

Those who have done the ride before know that the support for this ride is outstanding.  There are several SAG vehicles following you along the entire course to assist you.  The rest stops are loaded with snacks and drinks to keep you pedaling, and at the half way point lunch will be provided!  It is at this point you can make the decsion to stop at 55 miles or continue on for the 101.5 miles.

This year instead of a custom cycling jersey, you will be given access to a party zone with FREE beer, a very large assortmet of craft beers.  At the party zone there will be live music provided by All Without the Bass, did I mention free beer and lawn games.  I know, I know no cool jersey, but honestly don't we have enough jerseys already?  So feel free to wear your favorite past VBC jersey, your club jersey or a jersey you want to show off.  Just remember to bring 2 jerseys with you.  Why 2 you ask...becuase we are still doing the second day ride (Frank's Ride) around Lake Champlain.  This way Bob and I get to pedal with you.

Those who are new to the VBC ride the second day ride (67 miles) will take you north along the shores of Lake Champlain to the Canadian border.  We will cross into Vermont via a bridge over Lake Champlain then back along the Vermont shores stopping in North Hero VT for lunch at the Heros Welcome.  They serve great sandwiches!  We will cross back into NY via a ferry, and finish back at Valcour Brewing.  This ride is supported as well, however many riders outride the support and do it on their own.

This truly is a great weekend experience with some amazing cycling.  The VBC / Cycle & Sip Century Ride is one of the best kept little secrets in upstate NY and the New England area, and we want to keep it that way.  We have riders as far away as California, Minnesota, Florida and Virginia who return year after year to do this ride.  Our goal is to keep the ride manageable, raise money for some charities and spend time with friends we have made over the years from hosting this event.

There will be a packet pick up on Friday July 12, from 5p - 7p at Valcour Brewing - look for the Adirondack Garda Cycling trailer on the lawn, there could possibly be some free beer there.

Please keep in mind any registration after June 14th, cannot be guaranteed a T-shirt or the correct sizing, as shirts must be ordered in advance.  Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

Here is a list of some of the charities that money will be donated to:

National MS Society, Tour De Force, Rottie Empire Rescue and the local North Country Veterans Association.
