When you think about probate, you're thinking about going to court. You may cringe about the idea of probating a will or asking the court to determine who are the legal heirs of an estate. Fortunately in Texas, the probate process is not nearly as onerous as it may be in other states and you may be surprised that you might be able to avoid probate altogether. Learn about what happens when somebody dies intestate (without a will). Learn about the benefits and pitfalls of beneficiary designations. Learn about small estate affidavits and other ways that you and your family may avoid going to probate court.
