Ages 55+This program is offered by The Chronic Disease Coalition of Middlesex and Union Counties. All individuals are welcome, but individuals that have received a cancer diagnosis in the past, are currently undergoing cancer treatment, or care for someone with cancer would benefit the most from participating in this workshop. It gives participants the skills to coordinate all the things needed to manage their health, as well as to help them keep active in their lives and relationships.
Topics covered are: • Techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain, isolation, poor sleep and living with uncertainty• Appropriate exercise for regaining and maintaining flexibility, and endurance• Making decisions about treatment and complementary therapies• Communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals• Nutrition• Setting priorities and relationships
Each participant will receive a copy of the companion book: Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions, healthy snacks, and a completion certificate.
