Description

Want to be inspired with music and movement? Join us to improve communication and motor skills, inspire emotional health, and stimulate memory! Together we will stretch, breathe, sing, dance, and play instruments, within a community of support. Sessions are led by a music therapist and recreation therapist, designed for individuals with Dementia, Parkinson’s, or other neurological disorders, while open to everyone.
Level of Instruction: Any Level
Class Outcomes:
  • Access a new form of communication
  • Learn a new musical skill (singing, playing an instrument)
  • Find social connections and support
Program Objectives
  • Improve emotional and mental wellbeing
  • Improve social connection
  • Increase individual self-confidence
  • Create fun, valuable experience for participants
  • Create connection to and within the community
  • Facilitating verbal and non-verbal skills
Instructor Biography: Lilly Karrer is a music therapist with a passion for helping the underserved and experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, and children in the foster care system. Lilly has a talent for making everyone feel seen and important, and using music to help achieve positive outcomes.
Class Requirements: Please let staff know of any food allergies or medical/behavioral concerns before day of program.
Equipment: All equipment will be supplied.
