This three day Blended Learning course is designed to provide qualified participants with the certifications required for employment as a lifeguard through a combination of online and in person instruction. There is a 23 hour online lesson portion that must be completed prior to the in person course dates. Upon completion, graduates will receive American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguard Training, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer (CPR-PRO); Automated External Defibrillation (AED); Bloodborne Pathogens Training;
Prerequisite aquatic skills (300yd swim, surface dive with brick retrieval in 1min 40sec and treading water for two minutes with hands in armpits) must be demonstrated prior to registration; Testing provided free of charge at Brooks St. Swim Center or William A Wagner Aquatic Center by appointment only. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, social distancing will be in place as much as possible. All participants must wear face coverings when outside of the water unless specified otherwise by an instructor. If you are feeling sick or expressing any signs or symptoms of illness, we ask that you please stay at home.
Certification fees are included in the price of the class.
This is a Red Cross Blended Learning course. The 23 hour online lesson portion must be completed PRIOR to the first day of in-person training. You will need to email oceansidelifeguardtraining@gmail.com once you are registered to confirm your email address so that we may create a Red Cross account for you.
