About this event
The Trainer course is the first step in the three-step process to be appointed as a Trainer for the Society. The course provides candidates with an understanding of the expectations and requirements to teach instructors, and prepares participants to successfully apprentice as a Trainer on the Instructor course(s) of their choice. It shapes positive attitudes and values about the Society’s Instructor Training program, planning, learning/teaching, and evaluation content and allows participants to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, teaching, and evaluation techniques. Note: This course is delivered in a blended learning method which includes online learning with an in-person practical application. Course Dates: - Saturday April 27, 2024 (9:00am - 6:00pm) [online session on ZOOM] - Sunday April 28, 2024 (9:00am - 2:00pm) [classroom session] - Sunday April 28, 2024 (2:00pm - 6:00pm) [pool session] Classroom location: - Lifesaving Society Ontario Office (400 Consumers Rd, North York) Pool location: - Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (875 Morningside Ave, Scarborough) Students will receive an email containing the pre-course assignment with login instructions approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of the course.
