You must have successfully completed the NRA Basic Rifle course. In addition, you should have completed the Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course within 2 years prior to the course. This is a 10-hour course. This course classroom and range time learning how to teach the basic course to students who want to shoot rifles of different actions. Instructor candidates learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing, and kneeling positions; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Bring your lunch and hearing and eye protection. The first part is in the ICEFDT Offices in Mount Airy, and the range is in Owings Mills, Maryland. Register 2 students and save $20.00! If you have a location where the shooting portion of this class can be conducted, contact us to arrange special pricing.
