Description
This course provides an overview of the knowledge and skills utilized by an emergency vehicle technician to inspect, maintain, repair, and test pumps and their accessories including the priming system, plumbing and valves, gauges, indicator and warning systems, interlocks, and packing and seals.
This course is designed for the emergency vehicle technicianpursuing SFT-certification or anyone seeking an overview of how to inspect, maintain, repair, and test pumps and their related accessories. The course will review common terminology in accordance with current NFPA standards, an overview of the entire pumping system, the inspection, maintenance, repair,diagnostic checks, and testing cycle of pumping fire apparatus. Additional topics will include the priming system, plumbing and valves, packing and seals, gauges, galvanic protection challenges and pump interlock systems. Students will participate in hands-on performance testing of fire apparatus and fire pump teardown and rebuild procedures of the major fire pump brands found on today’s fire apparatus.Weeklong Course: $790.00
