On Thursdays. Class Dates: 2/29, 3/7, 3/14, 4/4, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, and 5/2. No class: 3/21, 3/28. Potential make-up date: 5/9. Course Description: Scratch is a programming language that enables students to create interactive stories and games using drag-and-drop programming blocks. First students create a few simple games, exploring how to code different aspects of each game, eventually gaining enough knowledge to conceive and create an original! Using variables, conditional statements, and loops to create games requires one to think outside the box to accomplish the game’s intent. This gives students a glimpse into how long and hard it must be to develop and finish commercial games played at home.
