About this event
Description
We're sorry, but this course is over. The last meeting was Saturday, April 27, 2024.
We have a very unique opportunity to offer this incredible free program to learn Tufting from Tony Sansalone. Tufting has gained tremendous popularity throughout Asia and Europe, and is slowly gaining traction throughout the United States.Tufting is a technique where yarn or thread is pulled through a surface to create loops or piles. This can be seen in activities like rug making, carpet manufacturing, and even some types of textile art. The process involves using a tufting gun and pushing yarn through a material, like fabric or a backing, to create a looped or piled texture on the other side, forming patterns and designs.
Tony Sansalone is a current graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working towards a masters in Arts Business. He is a practicing artist and has extensive experience teaching tufting.
This course is being offered in partnership with The Division of the Arts at UW-Madison through their Arts Business Competition and Wheelhouse Studios to support Tony's excellent proposal for the competition.
**This course is currently open to UW-Madison Students only**
