Description
Rare and mysterious. Exceptionally unique. Wonders of the world. Are these distant lands or fairytales? No, these describe several preserves right here in Will County! On these naturalist-led hikes, discover the plants, animals and land formations that make up some of our most protected sites. Meet the Wonders of Will County in Lockport Prairie Nature Preserve. As one of the last remaining dolomite prairies left in the world, it is home to endangered and rare species of the four-legged, six-legged and root-legged variety! This hike will be no longer than 1.5 miles and take place on natural and crushed limestone surfaces.
