Three-Color Linocut Reduction

Munroe Center for the Arts • 1403 Mass Ave LexingtonMA  02420 Organized by The Munroe Center for the Arts

About this event

This class will instruct students on the process of reduction carving linoleum blocks, in order to create prints with three layers of coloring. Students will begin with hands-on introduction to the fundamentals of linocut printmaking, through carving methods, color mixing, and instructor-led press operation. By utilizing only three colors, students can be mindful of color theory and how to build a dynamic composition in their resulting prints. Ideal for students with some printmaking experience. As an Akua Inks sponsored artist, Brooke Lambert’s experience highlights the qualities unique to the brand’s products through this class.
