The age determination date for our league is the actual age of a child as of June 1 of the current year.
The Signature Club Gators is a swim and dive team comprised of athletes age 4-18. Our mission is to teach and train competitive summer swimmers and divers; to promote healthy competition, sportsmanship and teamwork; and to foster friendships and a lifelong love of swimming and diving. Our goal is to help make every athlete his or her best, and to instill pride and confidence in all our Gators, regardless of age, ability, skill, or experience. Children of Signature Club members are welcome to join the Gators if they meet criteria for the swim and/or dive teams.
Swimmers ages 6 and under must be able to swim half the length of the pool (12.5 meters) independently on the first day of practice.
Swimmers ages 7-10 must be able to swim the entire length of the pool independently on the first day of practice.
Swimmers ages 11 and older must be able to swim 50 meters on the first day of practice.
The Mini Gator developmental team is for children who are willing to put their faces in the water and try to swim independently, but cannot yet meet the requirements of the swim team (ages 6 and under must independently swim half the length of the pool; ages 7-10 must be able to swim the entire length of the pool). We created this program for those who were close to meeting the requirements of the swim team, but needed a little more instruction. Mini Gators will meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:30am - 10:00am May 30th - July 2nd. Swimmers will meet in the shallow part of the pool with an instructor in the water. Instructors will focus on teaching freestyle with rotary breathing and the backstroke. Our goal is to teach our Mini Gators the swimming skills necessary to participate on the swim team in the future. We will accept 30 Mini Gators. Registrations will be accepted until the maximum enrollment is reached. Additional swimmers will be placed on a waiting list and enrolled if any openings occur. If you are on the waitlist, you will not be charged unless you are enrolled. Mini Gators do not participate in meets; therefore, parents are not required to sign up to volunteer unless your child is invited to join the full team.
The swim requirements will be strictly enforced. No refunds are given after the season begins.
All Swim & Dive Team members receive a team swim cap and team t-shirt with registration, if registered by May 3rd.
