Description
The Boys and Young Men Mentoring is a program designed to meet them where they are and support their needs. At the Y, we believe that all youth deserve the opportunity to thrive. During adolescence, as boys mature and become more independent, their existing support systems in homes, schools, and communities can often become distant or inaccessible to them, leaving them vulnerable and disconnected.
The Boys and Young Men Mentoring program is constructed to help and support the following:
- Impact their educational drive
- Create pipelines to connect them to post-secondary education and meaningful jobs
- Create experiences and environments that strengthen social-emotional competencies, while developing core character Y values- honesty, caring, respect and responsibility
- Foster positive cultural identity and self-identity
- Help young people build healthy relationships with peers and adults
- and so MUCH MORE!
