About this event
This girl-loves-ghoul rock 'n' roll off-Broadway musical is set in the atomic 1950s at Enrico Fermi High, where the law is laid down by a zany yet tyrannical principal. Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Jonny. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear waste dump. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee's heart. He still wants to graduate, but most of all he wants to take Toffee to the prom. The principal orders him to drop dead while a scandal-seeking reporter seizes on him as the freak du jour. History comes to his rescue while a tuneful selection of original songs in the style of 50s hits keeps the action rocking across the stage. Kooky, creepy, campy fun, Zombie Prom is packed with soupy mock-'50s sock hop- tunes and more teenage turmoil than a John Waters film. This show is slicker than Grease, smoother than Rocky Horror, and funnier than Little Shop of Horrors! Zombie Prom will be directed by Emily Taylor with choreography by Hannah West. Auditions will be held by appointment on Friday, January 19 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm with call-backs on Saturday, January 20 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. The production will rehearse Fridays from 5:00 - 7:00/8:00 pm and Saturdays from 1:00 - 5:00/6:00 pm. Technical/dress rehearsals happen April 7-11 with performances April 12-14. Students must be available for all technical/dress rehearsals and performances. Performances and rehearsals to take place offsite.
