About this event
Welcome to "Intro to Voice: Movie Magic," the course where kids can unleash their vocal talents through the enchanting songs from beloved movies! In this course, students will dive into the world of singing; exploring the fundamentals while enjoying music from films like Sing, Encanto, Trolls, Frozen, Vivo, Descendants, Coco, The Little Mermaid, Matilda, and more! Students will learn the importance of posture and breath support, developing techniques to produce clear and resonant tones. They will discover how proper alignment and breath control enhance their singing abilities and make them feel strong and confident! Basic music terminology will be introduced, providing students with a foundation to understand musical concepts such as melody, rhythm, tempo, and dynamics, gaining a deeper appreciation for the art of singing. An introduction to solfege, including pitch and sight-reading, will further expand students' musical skills. They will learn to identify and reproduce musical pitches using solfege syllables, nurturing their ability to sing accurately and confidently. Intro to Voice: Movie Magic will culminate in an in-class showing of songs for friends and family on the final day of the semester. TexARTS Tuition & Registration Policies: Tuition is due in full prior to the start of programming. Families with outstanding balances must resolve balances before attending any TexARTS program.
