If you want to develop your relationship with your dog and learn the basics of an exciting, fast growing sport, then dog agility may be for you! These lessons are offered by a group of dedicated dog agility enthusiasts who love to teach agility in a fun supportive environment. Dogs of all types and sizes can enjoy agility. We use positive reinforcement throughout. Emphasis will be in practicing techniques with the use of some basic agility equipment (tunnels, jumps and the tire jump) and is best done by one person per dog as each person has unique handling skills. At the end of this course we hope your dog will enthusiastically look forward to your training sessions and that you’ll have discovered how to keep your dog motivated and focused and have the skills necessary to move on to the next level of agility. Pre-requisites: basic obedience skills (dog is able to sit, go down, hold position, and walk politely on leash). Dogs should be at least 9 months and should not be aggressive to other dogs or people. Handlers are to be at least 16 years old. Shock collars, e-collars, choke chains or prong collars will not be allowed. For this set of lessons it must be the same handler and dog team for the 6 weeks.
Please note, dogs need to be 9 months old or older.
