Event details and schedule
The PTO US Open will be a landmark event. From the spectacular location to the closed-roads course and the unique opportunity to both watch the pros and race yourself, this is a triathlon experience you won’t want to miss.
100km – Sunday 18 September
The 100km race format will challenge you to straddle the red-line between speed and endurance and the 2022 PTO US Open features a stunning Texan course that’ll really get the blood pumping.
Your race will begin with a wetsuit-legal 2km freshwater swim in Lake Carolyn at the centre of the Levy Event Plaza with ample spectator opportunities to help bring you back to the shore in style.
Following T1, the 80km bike course features moderate rolling hills with around 850m of climbing to tackle as the day warms up. With fully closed roads and a 20m draft rule in effect, you can bank on as fair a race as possible.
After racking your bike in T2, there is a multi-lap fast and flat 18km run that’ll take you to a finish line experience fit for the world’s best.
25km – Saturday 17 September
The 25km race is the perfect choice for first-time triathletes – but be warned, once you’ve tried triathlon you’ll be hooked. This format is also perfect for those who want to show off their fast-twitch muscles and test exactly how fast they can go.
The 500m wetsuit-legal freshwater swim in Lake Carolyn at the centre of the Levy Event Plaza gives you the chance to put your pool training to good use before reaching T1.
Next, you’ll take on a rolling bike course with around 420m of climbing, all within the safety of a closed-roads environment. Finally, there’s a flat and fast 4.5km run that’ll lead you to a hero’s welcome at the finish.
