About this event
No class 2/20,4/2. Introduction to debate will teach students the basics of argumentation through the exploration of multiple debate formats. Over the course of this class students will explore everything from SPAR debate through more advanced concepts in team debate formats. It has the added benefits of causing students to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate; to develop listening skills; and to gain confidence in public speaking. They will learn and hone their research skills and every week will focus on applied debate skills. At the end of the course students will select a debate format and prepare and demonstrate the skills they have learned. *Prerequisite: Students enrolling in this class must have taken at least 1 semester of Art of Public
