New sailors will learn and practice the basics of sailing. The program includes: boat rigging, parts identification, wind direction, boat handling, crewing, and water safety. This class is designed for those who have no experience whatsoever with sailing as well as those who have had some sailing experience but need a refresher as the new season starts. We will use a Flying Scot, a 19 foot long day sailing/racing dinghy that includes main, jib, and optional spinnaker. Capacity is instructor plus up to 3 adults (18 and older).
