Winter is in full swing, and without the vibrancy of summer produce, how do you get the satisfaction of a hearty, warm, and wholly nutritious lunch? Grains to the rescue! In this cook-along class, we’ll cover proper preparation of grains, legumes, root vegetables, and mushrooms, as well as the utilization of dried herbs and spices to brighten up an otherwise dull season. Participants will prepare Lebanese Chickpea Stew and discuss recipes for Tri-Color Tacos and Mushroom Meatballs.
Cook along classes allow you to follow along with the instructor step by step, engaging and asking questions, so you end the class with dishes ready to eat. You can also sit back, take notes, and enjoy watching the instructor if you prefer. If you plan on cooking along it is important to gather the necessary equipment and ingredients prior to the start of the class.
+This class is part of our Plant-Based Eating Series. Planning and executing diverse and nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners can be especially difficult with a plant-based diet. In this series, learn how going animal-free changes your Recommended Daily Allowances of certain micronutrients and the best ways to make sure your plant-based weekly menus are whole, healthy, and delicious for the entire family.
You can register for all three Plant-Based Eating classes to complete the series in its entirety, or classes can be taken a la carte.
