Description
Summertime is heating up and it's the perfecttime to go wild blackberry picking!
We will visit the Nature Center at Shelby Bottoms Nature Park which will include a talk with a naturalist before our hike. Please note that although this is a great time of year to harvest blackberries it is dependent on the summer weather and rain patterns and is not guaranteed. We will hike approximately 2 miles total. Please bring your own basket or bag to harvest your berries. You will have an option to check out binoculars at the nature center if interested before our hike.
Participants must be able to walk independently
on different types of terrain.
Some places we go may have easy and more difficult trails for seniors to choose from or we will stay together as a group.
You will need to provide your own snacks and water for the hike itself.
We will eat lunch Dutch Treat at a local restaurant after our hike!
Meet in the lobby of the Williamson County Enrichment Center at 8:30am. Return times will vary. The cost of a hiking outing is $3 for transportation. Registration is required.
