A Quick Glance at the ProForm Pro 750R Rower

Proform 750R Rower

ProForm is a fitness equipment company that integrates the iFit app into its treadmills, rowers, and bikes. When you purchase equipment from ProForm, a trial iFit membership is included so you can experience all of the workouts, coaching, and other features that go along with the membership. You can still use the machines without iFit, but you won’t be able to integrate other fitness apps and access all the features.

ProForm has three levels of rowers: the R10, 750R, and 440R. The 750R is ProForm’s mid-level rower in both price and included features. If you’re an avid rower you may miss some of the more advanced features of the highest model, but if you’re a beginner or use rowing as a supplement to your normal workouts the 750R may be perfect for you. Let’s take a look at the specs and features.

    • 24 resistance levels is enough to give you a workout tailored to you
    • Magnetic resistance system is virtually silent during operation
    • Budget friendly

    What We Don’t Like

    • 250 lb. weight capacity is relatively low

    Design

    • Comfort. Let’s face it, there are a lot of factors to consider when buying a rower, but being comfortable is one of the most important. The ProForm Pro 750R has an ergonomic seat design with steel rails that hold the seat steady on the track. It also comes equipped with adjustable handlebars that allow you to find the most comfortable position for your hands. The flywheel mimics a true rowing experience and the foot straps are adjustable so there is no foot shifting while you row.
    • Footprint. The ProForm Pro 750R has a footprint of 22 inches wide, 86.5 inches long, and 45.5 inches high at its highest point. Most people have this kind of space to use while operating the rower, but the real question is storage. This rower uses ProForm’s SpaceSaver® folding design to cut the footprint for storage almost in half.

    Performance

    • Display. The ProForm Pro 750R has two display options. There is a 5-inch screen that displays basic stats from your current workout like strokes per minute, calories burned, distance, and split times. There is a designated mount for your phone or tablet to watch workout videos from iFit and follow along with the coaches. The rower connects to your device via Bluetooth for these workouts, but the Bluetooth only syncs with iFit, so keep that in mind if you like to listen to your own playlist.
    • Tracking and Workouts. ProForm uses iFit as its primary programming source but the machine also comes equipped with 20 pre-programmed workouts if you choose not to pay for the subscription. If you want to connect different health tracking apps like Apple Health or Garmin Connect, you’ll have to sync with iFit.
    • Resistance. This rowing machine has 24 digital resistance levels, which is fairly high compared to other rowers in its class. The 750R also has an AutoAdjust feature so your personal trainer can adjust your resistance level automatically for you based on your power output during the workout.

Who Should Buy the ProForm Pro 750R Rower?

The Proform Pro 750R Rower is designed for all levels of rowers. It meets all of the basic specs and features you’ll need to get a good workout and it is easily stored, which makes it a good option to include in your home gym. However, because it is a basic rower at a budget friendly price, it is particularly attractive for beginners.

FAQs About the ProForm Pro 750R Rower

Is the Proform Pro 750R quiet?

Yes. The Proform Pro 750R is a magnetic resistance rower which means the movement is quiet. The only sound you should be hearing from the rower is the sound of the flywheel turning as you pull the handle. However, if you’re using any of the workouts pre-programmed onto the machine or one of the iFit workouts, the workout will have an adjustable sound output.

How hard is it to assemble the ProForm Pro 750R?

The ProForm Pro 750R rower requires some assembly, but it is minimal. You’ll need to attach certain parts such as the seat and pedals but the flywheel and display arrive assembled. Some of the parts are heavy so you’ll probably want to have at least two people for assembly.

Can you use ProForm without a membership?

You can use ProForm without the iFit membership. There are 20 workouts pre-programmed onto the Pro 750R and you can use the tracking software without the membership. However, the iFit membership does unlock many other features like coaching, workouts, and more metrics.

How long is a ProForm rower?

ProForm rowers have different lengths. The 750R and the R10 rowers are both 86.5 inches long while the 440R is 76.6 inches. The 750R and R10 also come equipped with the SpaceSaver design which allows them to fold into a much smaller footprint for storage. The 440R does not fold, but it has front wheels that allow it to be stood up against a wall.
