Discovering Oil & Cold Wax w/ Julie Snidle

Robert Little Studio • Touchstone Center for Crafts 1049 Wharton Furnace Road FarmingtonPA  15437 Organized by Touchstone Center for Crafts

About this event

No Experience-Beginner $75-$125 Materials and Studio Fees* Are you new to oils or would you like to learn a non-traditional approach to oil painting? Cold wax medium is an additive that thickens oil paint and speeds up the drying time (a bit). We will use R&F Pigment Sticks (compressed oil paints) along with tube oils to create paintings without brushes or smelly solvents. You will discover new tools and methods for creating rich and authentic small works on paper and Ampersand’s Gessobord. With Arches oil paper as our primary substrate, you’ll have several paintings going at once and they can easily be transported back home. Expect to have fun, get a bit messy, and change the way you think about oil painting. *Materials and studio fees are charged to students based on studio usage and materials Touchstone is providing at the request of the instructor. Additionally, some instructors may also require that you bring certain materials and tools with you, in which case a list will be provided. Final cost of these fees will be posted at least two weeks ahead of the workshop to be paid in full prior to check-in.
