Just because the weather has gotten a little colder doesn’t mean we can’t learn about life science in the garden. This winter session students will get to learn about hydroponics in a greenhouse setting. Hydroponics, in its simplest form, is growing plants by supplying all necessary nutrients in the plants’ water supply rather than through the soil. Students will: Investigate what conditions are required for a healthy plant to grow and develop. Experiment with different types of nutrients and water sources for plants. Explore engineering designs to create different environments for plants to grow. Create a portable greenhouse to use at their own home.
